ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,092 Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2019 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 978,400 people worldwide this year.

Diaryof1000girls is a project that aims to solve gender inequality by creating content that will influence perceptions on gender and mobilize contemporary urban youth between 16 and 30yrs to be more involved in gender advocacy. The mission is to create Content that tells Stories for Gender Equality. Currently, Diaryof1000girls has active online blogs on WordPress and Medium that use storytelling to address different gender and social issues with a focus on girls and women. The blogs have a total of over 80 followers and an average of 500 monthly views. Diaryof1000girls seeks to grow and venture to film and documentary to increase the reach to the targeted audience which is a reach of 2000 people and 60% engagement on the different platforms between August 2019 and November 2020.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jerrylynn Kariuki is a content creator, avid storyteller, and a charismatic social activist. She is passionate about creating content that will influence perceptions and policies on gender matters while maintaining relevance to contemporary urban youth. Jerry believes in harnessing the power of storytelling to educate communities on harmful social norms and spread social awareness.
Jerrylynn is the founder of "Diaryof1000girls, a content hub which creates content that tells stories to promote gender equality. She has interned with the Brand and Marketing teams at Cellulant, ALU and ALU School of Business giving her skills and experience in branding, marketing and communications.
