ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,092 Millennium Fellows.  The Class of 2019 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 978,400 people worldwide this year.

“I am extremely excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I believe a good work appreciated is worth doing and doing well. This Fellowship motivates me to do more for my community because the little I contribute is appreciated.

I believe way I can also help my community is through these projects and together we shall get there I am excited because i will get to meet different people and projects which i can also learn from to improve myself.”

Millennium Fellowship Project: Saakiya Foundation

Saakiya foundation seeks to provide quality education to underprivileged students in the deprived areas by providing them with stationeries and other educational materials. We also seek to provide Sanitary pads to the female in these communities. We are looking forward to reaching out to at least five communities in this period.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hamida Muntaka is a senior at Ashesi University studying Business Administration. She forms part of the welfare committee of the Ashesi Student Council. She was the judicial and electoral representative for the class of 2021
