ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,092 Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2019 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 978,400 people worldwide this year.
“I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it will allow me to connect with other students around the world who are passionate about creating a better future for those who will come after us.”
Millennium Fellowship Project: SDGs and Service-Learning: Ideas for the New Millennium
Each year, the Bentley University Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Center provides over 1,000 students with the opportunity to apply classroom learning for community benefit in a real-world context. This project would involve a programmatic analysis to determine which Sustainable Development Goals are currently being addressed through our programs. We would like each of our 34 programs to address and align with Sustainable Development Goal #17: Partnerships for The Goals. We feel that this goal encompasses all of our current programs and the work that they do with their respective community partners. We will expect that each program address at least one more Sustainable Development Goal(s) than was listed at the start of the semester, and we will evaluate our success against that expectation.
