“I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because climate change is a very real and pressing issue, and I want to do anything I can to help our Earth.”

Millennium Fellowship Project: just BEEcause

Just BEEcause seeks to raise awareness of the plight of bees and other pollinators, as their numbers dwindle at alarming rates. The team hopes to make Georgetown University's campus a hub for bees and other pollinators by creating a pollinator-friendly garden and increasing on-campus support for sustainable farming ventures.

Measurable Goals:

  • create / modify an existing garden to be pollinator-friendly

  • asses and advocate to change (if necessary) policies impacting pollinators on campus

  • raise approximately $1,000 dollars to donate to a local organization dedicated to protecting pollinators
