United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,092 Millennium Fellows.  The Class of 2019 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 978,400 people worldwide this year.

Model Engineering College Model United Nations Society (MEC MUNSoc) is an organization founded by the students of MEC that aims to bring awareness of rising international issues to the general public.

We plan to conduct one conference in October, which will impact 100-200 people directly and many more indirectly. We also publicize socio-political issues on our social media channels and break down barriers one by one.

We also plan another large-scale event in January-February, that will bring an audience of 200-300 people. Moreover, throughout the year, we will be holding workshops and orientations for college students.

India is a very diverse country, especially in opinions. Through formal debate and proper discussion, we believe that differences can be overcome.

About the Millennium Fellow

Vivek R is a senior at Govt. Model Engineering college. He is pursuing his B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Currently, he is working on Web development, Data Science and Machine Learning projects. He is one of the core members of FOSS cell at MEC (FOSS MEC). He aims to improve the educational sector and to implement solutions to improve the living conditions of people through technology and innovation. He is interested in Research and is actively looking forward to working on interesting projects, even if it’s just a small contribution.

He is also a member of MEC MUN Society, an organization that aims to address the unification and co-operation of people from various different backgrounds through formal debate and mutual respect.

It has been an unending desire, to seek knowledge for Rahul Ramachandr ab Menon. When he had joined his institution, he found that many students lack interest in finding solutions that the surrounding politics desires. Although many complete assignments, Rahul found displeasure in volunteering minds. Hence, Rahul helps and shares his vision to the best of his abilities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Noel Thomas Bejoy is a third year Btech student at Government Model Engineering College,Thrikkakara. He is interested in learning new languages; with German being one of his current interests. He has also achieved international rank 74 in the International English Olympiad while at school. An introvert, he is interested in knowing about the latest gadgets and movies and International politics.

About the Millennium Fellow

Niranjana is a sophomore in Computer Science and Engineering at Model Engineering College, India. Human Rights and International relations interest her and she aims at creating an impact through her knowledge in computer science and human rights. She is an active MUN delegate in the Kerala circuit, a passionate speaker and writer too. With a penchant for learning and traveling, Niranjana is always on the move, let it be traveling to different cities of India for MUNs and coding competitions to exploring the world nations.

Harinarayanan Shaji is a junior at Govt. Model Engineering College (MEC) studying Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently serving as Vice President of MEC's Model United Nations Society (MUNSoc) and Editor of MUNner's Daily, the MUNSoc's blog.

Hari is an avid follower of world politics and international issues. He has served as Executive Board member for MUN conferences and also won prizes as a delegate. Digital Marketing and Graphic Design are his top skills, making him an invaluable addition to any social media team.

C G Giridhar is an aspiring student who pursues his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Govt.Model Engineering College, Kochi.
