“I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it has given me the incentive of taking action in making a positive difference in this world. It propels me to pursue my passions with a purpose and a chance to engage with the local community.”

Millennium Fellowship Project

Re-create focuses on implementing sustainability within our everyday lives through utilising common products found around our homes. It focuses on the reduction of plastic consumption and educating the young generation on how to make their own everyday household products such as soaps, toothpaste, deodorant and creams. Products we use without the realisation that they are covered in plastic. Our aim is to make aware of this reality of excessive plastic consumption and implement skills which can reduce our environmental impact. This is a project were we reuse, recycle and re-create.

Goals:

  1. We will host 3 events over 4 months each reaching 80 people.

  2. Events aim to educate a total of 300 people on the SDGs and sustainable consumption

  3. Workshops will also be hosted to ensure tangible acquisition of transferable skills in creating alternative solutions

  4. Products created in workshops may be sold to raise funds for a charity of choosing
