ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,092 Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2019 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 978,400 people worldwide this year.
“I am extremely honoured to have been named a Millennium Fellow for 2019 and look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of WSU students and their communities. It brings me quite a lot of fulfillment to be able to make a difference in other peoples lives, big or small.”
Millennium Fellowship Project
The Sustainable Campus Project aims to explore the challenges in maintaining sustainability with the vertical campus model that the university is adopting. Many students have raised concerns in relation to the loss of green space and connections to place/country. In response to these concerns, The Sustainable Campus Project plans to develop mental health and well-being programs as well as open forums to broaden the discussion about vertical campus life and its impact on students. We also hope to initiate sustainability initiatives on existing vertical campuses that will help to address the current environmental concerns, as well as enrich the lives of the diverse student and staff population of the institution. This will, in turn, benefit the wider community as WSU continues to work with local communities and other key stakeholders in the region.
