United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations.  30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 530 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year. 

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 310,000 people worldwide this year.

“As a Millennium Fellow and a student leader, I will utilize the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and peers around the world. I aspire to develop values, management skills, and ways to create social impact. I have a lot to learn and explore.Upon everything, I want to create a global reach and exposure to our project and the work being done.We aim to create a global platform for the Buds Rehabilitation Centre to inspire parents of many such blessed kids assuring them a bright future. Being the Co-Founder of The Gulmohar Foundation, I would like to give my organization and the projects undertaken a global platform and to promote many more people into the act of volunteerism to be the change-makers.”

Millennium Fellowship Project

Perinad Buds Rehabilitation Center Incubation (Project N-iNC) aims to set up optimal conditions for the growth, development and empowerment of the differently-abled inhabitants of Buds Rehabilitation Centre hence contributing towards overall incubation of the Centre. The team will be organizing inspirational, motivational and training sessions for the differently-abled students of the Centre empowering and making them expertise in their fields of interest. Additionally, a skillbook will be developed for each individual student which will give a complete insight that describes the traits and talents of each would possess and allowing the students to start working on enhancing those traits.

Afsal Mohammed B is an aspiring fourth year Mechanical Production Engineering student of TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. Volunteering is his evertime passion and he am ready to put my heart and soul into it. Afsal’s aim is to bring more people into the act of volunteerism who can be the change and changemakers in the society. Since he believes in investing in youth; he created his own platform- The Gulmohar Foundation, focussing on Youth Empowerment and NGO Incubation. Afsal is also working in support of Perinad Grama Panchayath in the fields of Education, Health and Environmental Conservation.
