UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MILLENNIUM CAMPUS NETWORK PROUDLY PRESENT ASHA RAMAKUMAR, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2018.
"I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I get to meet and network with people who live in the countries my organization is talking about. I hope to hear first-hand accounts and stories to further enhance my global understanding!"
My project is called the Global Women's Health Initiative which is an organization focused on awareness and advocacy for non-Western women's health issues. We examine these issues through medical, legal, and artistic lenses. We are hoping to host at least 4 events over this semester focused on various international issues. My particular focus is on eradicating female genital cutting/mutilation. I am advancing SDG3 and UNAI 10.
I am a junior at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University studying Global Politics and Women and Gender Studies. I am the co-founder and co-director of the Global Women's Health Initiative. My ultimate goal is to work as an international solicitor representing global women's health interests.
