UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MILLENNIUM CAMPUS NETWORK PROUDLY PRESENT MARIA DANIELA GUDUÑO LOOR, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2018.
"I am really excited to be a a millennium fellow because it’s a great way to learn from others how to help people from my country who don’t have access to private health care and also teach them the importance of preventing oral diseases. It’s a great way to put into action a good project while learning how to do it the right way."
I am a dentistry student in my last year of university. First I studied public relations and communication because I was scared to study dentistry, by then I had the courage to change careers and follow what I really wanted to do. Now I am really close to achieving my degree as a dentist and I don’t regret my decision. I love to see the smiles of all my patients when I do a good work on their mouth. It’s not only about how it looks but it’s how you can give confidence to someone by helping them recover their oral health.
Through the initiative Project of preventive and restorative oral health care, we will educate children of a vulnerable population to promote healthy lifestyle and restore in order to reduce the diseases carried. The measurable goals would be reduce de # of children that need health care. The amount of caries reduced in the population is a measurable goal. This project is advising the principal of addressing poverty because we are focusing on school children of vulnerable populations in our country that can’t afford private health care. Also the commitment of human rights to children that have the right to learn and get the service of oral health.
