UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MILLENNIUM CAMPUS NETWORK PROUDLY PRESENT CONNIE DAYINA, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2018.
My name is Connie and I'm a rising senior at Northeastern University majoring in Economics and minoring in Global Social Entrepreneurship. I grew up in Beijing and lived in England for two years prior to college. I'm the student lead for NUImpact, Northeastern's student-led impact investing initiative. NUImpact serves as a resource for the entire Northeastern community to understand purposeful capital. We offer thought-exchanges in the form of speaker events, interactive workshops, lecture series and community conversations.
I'm thrilled and honored to be a Millennium Fellow because MCN and UNAI create a network of like-minded individuals who are passionate about creating social change and becoming the servant leaders within their communities worldwide. My project is leading and fundraising for Northeastern's first student-led impact investing fund. I'm excited for this work because I'm a firm believer in capital's duty and ability to create social change. And impact investing is a vehicle that achieves the duel mission of financial returns and social impact. Students should have a say and stake in how their universities deploy capital and whether it's in a way that is in the local community's best interests.
