"One reason I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow is the opportunity to interact and learn from the community of Fellows, present and past. Being part of something bigger than yourself is motivating and inspiring."
Millennium Fellowship Project
Madeline will be working with an on-campus publication to actualize her project titled Artistic Dialogue. Using art as a medium for respectful dialogue, she will work with the creative review to build relationships between the vast international student community and local students through interactive, artistic events and the opportunity to be published. Her main goal for these upcoming months is to build a strong community around their publication, with an emphasis on the excitement to build a work of art together. SDG 17, which is to promote just, peaceful, and inclusive societies, is built on their ability to put UNAI principle 10, which is a commitment to promoting inter-cultural dialogue and understanding, and the “unlearning” of intolerance through exposure, into practice. The publication and Madeline will work together to provide environments for the principle to take hold, thus allowing space for the SDG to develop.
