ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 530 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.
The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 310,000 people worldwide this year.
“I'm so thrilled to be able to interface with some of the greatest change makers our generation has to offer on the most critical issues of our time.”
Millennium Fellowship Project
EcoScholars is an organization aiming to bring new and innovative climate change curriculum to Boston school students ages K-12. EcoScholars are finding it more and more critical to educate children at an early age about the impact their lifestyles can have on the environment and what they can do to make this planet habitable and healthy for all living things. Over the course of this semester, EcoScholars hope to bring their curriculum to at least 5 new schools/programs across the city and increase volunteer participation across Northeastern's campus.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ava Gallo is a third-year honors student at Northeastern University studying Environmental Studies and International Affairs. As a University Scholar, she's spent over 200 hours serving the Boston community through various organizations throughout the city. She has also served as a Service-Learning Teaching Assistant for a Food Justice and Social Change course where she acted as the communicator between community partners and her students to facilitate meaningful service. In her future, she intends to follow her passion for both the environment and the Constitution, looking for ways to bridge the two to make positive social change.
