“This opportunity is not only exciting for me, but also for every member of the Jarvis Millennium Fellows team. This honor will help promote our Diabetes Awareness Campaign.”

Millennium Fellowship Project

The Jarvis Diabetes Awareness Campaign uses Diabetes Education as a building-block to healthier communities by raising consciousness to prevent chronic disease and ensure predisposed demographic groups know the risk factors and warning signs. Working together in the community enables timely diagnoses and access to professional care by paying closer attention to prevention and consistently making small behavioral changes that have a big impact, like more nutritious food choices or glycemic trade-offs for junk food. Millennium Fellows at Jarvis Christian College hope to accomplish the measurable goal of reaching 1,000 to 2,000 East Texas youth ages 15 to 22.
