On Friday, October 4th at 11.00 am EDT, we hear from Sloan Sainas. Sainas started a business in his freshman dorm, but his trajectory changed while traveling Guatemala. Sainas saw an indigenous community coerced from their traditional land. The matter stands trial in Choc v. Hudbay Minerals, setting precedent in Canada. Watching Q'echi farmers sue a multinational corporation moved Sainas. He sold his business to focus on school and tackle social issues. Sainas is now studying the MBA/MIA dual degree at Columbia to pursue socially responsible investing.
