" Millennium Leadership Fellowship is an incredibly great platform to have opportunities to be around great leaders and to be supported in becoming a leader. Such an opportunity comes with great responsibilities and the greatest of all is to work on something that is greater than myself.
Architecture has given me a deeper understanding of the world and my place in it. As I justify my privilege of accessing modern education;particularly architecture, my greatest desire is to solve some of the world's biggest challenges, to uplift my community and restore their dignity by creating affordable, sustainable housing solutions. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Jirani Initiative

Jirani Initiative is meant to progress SDG 4, Quality Education for all, targeting community libraries in informal settlements. We chose Wajukuu Library in Mukuru Kwa Njenga as a beneficiary of text books and stationery. Our target was to provide at least 200 primary school and secondary school text books putting into consideration they new curriculum. We carried out fundraising activities such as speed dating and movie night within the University to create awareness on sustainable development goals and the millennium fellowship with an aim to encourage our fellow university students to be more proactive in community work.
