ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Campus Recycling Champions
CRC are environmental corps on the campus who see to the green and clean environment through advocacy and recycling.
Campus Recycling Champions will advocate for SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG 13- Climate Action and other related SDG's. Campus Recycling Champions will provide free waste bags to kitchens and canteens on campus while participating in routine clean up on campus, each faculty will be provided with waste bins for proper separation from source, their paper, plastics, cans will all be separated. The Campus Recycling Champions cut across each department and Faculty, they will be having consistent sensitization programs. The team looks forward to launching Campus Recycling Champions accross the campuses by August and this will give them an avenue to also train students on how to use plastics to make stools and tables. ( Waste Up Cycling).
About the Millennium Fellow
Alao Wuraola is an Enivornmental accountant, in her penultimate year at lagos state university, she has always been passionate about a clean environment,she was an advocate of Sdgs 6 without evening knowing right from her Secondary School days, after gaining admission,she learnt about SDGs and Immediately joined SdgsAct Lasu due to her passion for actaulizing the goals.she started advocating for goal 6, she has held several clean up projects to advocate goal 6 to the community, due to her passion,skills and accomplishments, She is appointed as the Project Manager 2 of SDGsAct LASU, she is also currently the National Campus Coordinator of Campus Recycling Champions Nigeria, she believes a clean environment is a must to a healthy life and we all have a role to play in achieving it.
