" It is an immense honor for me to be part of the Millennium Fellowship as it will be the ideal opportunity to put my commitment to the community in which I live into practice on another level. Having worked with associations in the field of solidarity, I want to take another step in the fight against inequalities. I am convinced that the Millennium Fellowship will provide me with valuable experience in creating a positive social impact in my community, in particular with regard to making visible the most disadvantaged social sectors that do not have access to the media and are therefore often ignored by those who have to decide in the general interest. Reversing this situation of inequality, raising awareness and making known the social conditions of the most disadvantaged in the community where I live will be my fundamental objective. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Votre Parole (Your Voice).
Our project consists of giving media visibility to the most disadvantaged social classes, usually ignored by the mainstream media. Under the maxim "think globally, act locally", we believe that freedom of expression is guaranteed by giving everyone the possibility to express themselves. Therefore, equality of expression and equal opportunities to communicate with society are also necessary for freedom of expression to take place. In this way, our project will seek to raise awareness throughout society about the living conditions and the unequal situation of people belonging to the most disadvantaged social sectors in the city of Le Havre (France). Furthermore, this project will also aim at fighting inequality by means of the media emancipation of the people most affected by inequality and poverty.
Our impact will be measured through the number of interviews conducted and the viewers on social media, as well as through the satisfied commitment of our fellow students. In particular, we would like to interview at least ten people, selected according to their socio-economic background and their capacity to raise awareness and to represent the plurality of stories and opinions of the part of the society from which he/she is part. As we want to conduct ten good interviews at least, what needs a reflection on the questions asked, looking for participants and interviewees, editing the videos, being more creative and original from one interview to another and also writing the subtitles in different languages, this will take us some time. A quantifiable goal could therefore be to conduct at least these ten interviews and collect over 1000 reactions, including video views, on the various social networks.
