ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.
UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT CAROLINE ROSE WOLINSKY, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2020.
Tufts University | Massachusetts, United States | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 6
" I am so excited to become a Millennium Fellow and work with like-minded peers who have bold ideas about how to achieve a better future. The Fellowship uplifts and empowers young leaders like me to face complex, large challenges with a positive and supportive community, and to see those challenges as opportunities to collaborate. Millennium Fellows are united by shared values of justice, passion, and innovation, and it is an honor to be a part of this program! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Voices of Her
There is little to no mandated bias training for nurses before they enter healthcare facilities, and the misdiagnosis of female patients in healthcare settings is a problem that touches every part of the world. Voices of her empowers a diverse set of women from Somerville, MA, to tell their stories and inform policies that will precipitate real change. The project will produce a biweekly column for Tufts' school newspaper and a final, long-form feature article as well as a policy recommendation for the Somerville City Council. The website traffic will be measurable throughout the duration of the project -- I hope to reach 500 people per article posted. In addition, I will measure my impact by the number of women represented through the articles (at least 12 women from a range of socioeconomic and racial backgrounds) and the reach of the policy recommendation to the city council (sit down or video conference with at least 4 councilors, work at least one recommendation into legislation proposed).
About the Millennium Fellow
Caroline Wolinsky is studying International Relations, and trying to learn as much as possible about the world around her as it rapidly changes. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, knitting, challah-making, and joke-telling. She is honored to join such an incredible class of fellows and cannot wait to shed light on (and hopefully mitigate the effects of) gender inequality in her local healthcare systems.
