Millennium Fellowship Project: Gama Holistica
Nadia hope to turn the University and community of Utuado into a more environmentally aware space of conciousnes. Where people can have the power of knowledge of what is going on with our island and the world based on our consumer's choice impact when it comes to food. All of this includes topics such as; The Waste Crisis of solid materials (on our island and fellow countries) The Organic waste crisis (How much food is lost around us and how it spells a big problem for our environment, The power of consumer conciousnes and how it can better not only our economy by consuming local, organic and fresh but also acquiring goods that promote sustainable practices within our island, and finally bringing awareness on how to live a healthy life through cultural practices that are native to our culture such as etnobotonay and medical anthropology and heal ourselves on a holistic level. All of this will be accomplished by Nadia giving a series of presentations to students and communities around her campus. By obtaining the support and backup of profesors and teachers, Nadia hopes to be able to reach hundreds of young people and elders as well to see how to promote sustainable and environmentally conscious food consumption.
