ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" Learn something new is my passion. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will improve my creativity and skills extraordinarily. With these skills, I will be able to make a social impact in School, College, University as well as in the World. I'm extensively excited to build up my knowledge and strengthen my creativity and skills through this Millennium Fellowship. It's a huge platform that anyone can be able to make a change among them. It will be developed my network creativity and increased communication skills. Hopefully, it's going to be a great chance for me. And I will be able to make a strong social impact. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Transforming Specialty

Transforming Specialty is a group project led by six Millenium fellows of the University of Chittagong(CU). It supports SDG 04, quality education, and SDG 08, decent work, and economic growth. The main purpose of this project is to help the visually impaired students of CU in their academics, working on their skill development ensuring their active engagement in extracurricular activities. To gain our project goals we have done some relevant activities and participated in examinations as stenographers, celebrated International White Cane Safety Day, provided academic support. Organized session or ‘Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities-2013’ and its implementation, and ‘Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)’. All of our activities were conducted for our target people, visually impaired students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Yeasin Arfat is a young, creative thinker and competitive student that studies at the Department of International Relations at the University of Chittagong. He was born in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, and currently, he lives in Chittagong for purpose of his studies.
Yeasin is also an active member of different Organizations, Clubs, etc. He works as an Associate member of Chittagong University History Club and also provides service as a Cadet( volunteers) of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps under the branch of the University of Chittagong. Currently, he is working as a Research Assistant of Md Morshedul Alam; a renowned Assistant Professor of Islamic History and Culture at the University of Chittagong. Their project is to collect the history of Bangladeshi Culture and Heritage and explore it in the country and the World. He is working under this project for ensuring 'Quality Education' among the nations as well as the World, by which he provides his contribution to the fourth Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Without it, he is always working for social justice and women's rights. Right now he is working with a team of six members and their project is Transforming Speciality by which they will provide quality education to visually impaired students.
