Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Aarosh

Project Aarosh has a dedicated mission to tackle the issue of plastic waste in urban areas by utilizing innovative furthermore, they take pride in their efforts to reduce plastic waste and carbon emissions. They have transformed over 250 kg of non-recyclable plastic waste into 25 ottomans, 15 tables, and 10 wall hangings using Ecobricks, reducing over 1500 kg of carbon emissions.

The team at Project Aarosh has already achieved notable success through their unique lease-cum-sale approach, which caters to a range of demographics such as cafes, middle-class households, and business owners. However, their aim is to broaden their market share and product offerings by developing a diverse range of items in various categories.
Project Aarosh is committed to positively impacting both the environment and society. By providing employment opportunities to low-income communities and facilitating greater social mobility, they aim to promote sustainable consumption and production practices while simultaneously reducing plastic waste in landfills and oceans.

About the Millennium Fellow

Deepal Yadav is a junior at Delhi Technological University (erstwhile Delhi College of Engineering), where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering. She is extremely passionate about sustainability and renewable energy. She is always looking for ways to reduce her environmental impact and live a more sustainable lifestyle. She is also interested in developing new technologies that can help to harness renewable energy sources.
