Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Taawun
Taawun (तावुन/تعاون ) in Project Taawun Means Cooperation(सहयोग) .
Project Taawun is a student-led awareness initiative committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11 and 13, focusing on sustainable cities and communities, and climate action, respectively. Specifically targeting SDG targets 11.5 and 13.1, the project aimed to raise awareness about disasters, their preparedness, and risk reduction strategies.
The objectives were:
1)Educated individuals about the preventive measures to be taken before natural disasters.
2)Empowered communities with knowledge on creating resilient environments.
3)Disseminated information on significant natural disasters, their impact, and lessons learned.
About the Millennium Fellow
Yashasvi Suri is a 3rd year student of Geography Hons. While geography is a subject of interest for her. The spectrum of study has expanded for her since the beginning of college. She wants to study geography not as mere subject but in a way to make a change, even if as a smallest step. Hence looking at the present conditions of climate change and unsustainable lifestyle of people today, Yashasvi's vision is to promote climate action and sustainability.
