" As a Millennium Fellow, I am excited to collaborate with like-minded peers to create tangible, positive change. My passion for climate action and gender equality drives me to leverage my technology skills to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. I believe that by combining innovation with social impact, we can build a more equitable and sustainable future for all. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project EmpowHER
The project aims to provide easier access to education to girls from underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. Even if the education system existed for these girls, it was very difficult to pursue this education due tosometimes the lack of proper facilities to cater to their needs such as local schools being unable to meet the safety, hygiene or sanitation needs of girls. This lead to girls dropping out of school even though education facilities existed and is a root to problems such as pay gaps, child marriage and child mortality. With this project we aimed to provide education facilities which met the standards required for girls to pursue their education with ease and also an environment which is gender-equitable and teaching practices which are gender responsive. This project thus aimed to combat primarily the gender parity in primary education and secondly make it easy for
girls to pursue that education. It aims to remove barriers such as poverty, child marriage and gender based violence and transformed the lives of girls belonging to underprivileged sections of society.
