Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth And One Health Approach
The One Health Youth Initiative aims to promote awareness among young people about the
"One Health" approach to building healthier communities worldwide. The initiative addresses the
interconnectedness of animal health, human health, and environmental well-being, recognizing
that each plays a critical role in preventing and managing diseases, particularly in light of the
COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic highlighted the need for integrated health strategies to
prevent future outbreaks and safeguard public health. This project educates youth from various
academic backgrounds on the One Health approach, encouraging them to consider holistic
health perspectives. Through community engagement activities, such as tree planting to support
environmental health and raising awareness about Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), the
initiative fosters practical involvement. By empowering the youth to advocate for sustainable and
preventive health practices, this project creates lasting social impact, strengthening the capacity
of communities to maintain health resilience against future health threats.
