Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpoweraROHI
EmpoweraROHI is a youth-led initiative aimed at addressing climate change, plastic pollution, and environmental awareness in vulnerable communities of District Ghotki, Sindh. To achieve our goals at EmpoweraROHI, our team actively engages the community through hands-on activities and targeted awareness initiatives. Key actions include recycling drives where village kids repurpose 200+ plastic bottles, tree-planting events with 300+ villagers to plant 100+ trees, and educational workshops featuring model demonstrations on climate change effects. We also conduct creative competitions, like poster-making, to reinforce climate awareness. In collaboration with Climate Action Pakistan, we’ve successfully led five impactful projects: Green Guardian (clean-up drives), Student Baithak (youth discussions on environmental issues), Kids Circle (interactive workshops for children), EcoCraft (upcycling projects), and Roots Revival (focused tree-planting initiatives).
Milestones: So far, we’ve educated over 500 participants, planted 100+ trees, and completed 10+ climate awareness sessions, all contributing to sustainable action and awareness in Ghotki’s rural communities.
