" As someone deeply passionate about inclusiveness in diversity, the non-existence of sexual harassment, and the importance of mutual respect, I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it provides an incredible platform to amplify these values. My journey, from participating in street theatre to raise awareness to pursuing law at NUJS Kolkata, has been driven by a commitment to creating a more just and inclusive society. The Millennium Fellowship represents an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and make a tangible impact on the global stage. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Respect & Empower

"Respect & Empower" is a student-led initiative dedicated to ending sexual harassment through education, advocacy, and safe dialogue. The project addresses both active and passive harassment by fostering a culture of respect, consent, and accountability on campus.
Our approach includes conducting educational workshops on consent, bystander intervention, and respectful communication. We organize awareness campaigns through social media and campus events to challenge harmful norms and amplify survivor voices. Additionally, we host monthly safe-space discussions where individuals can share experiences, seek support, and learn from others.
By engaging students, faculty, and staff, we aim to create an inclusive environment where harassment is openly addressed, and preventive actions are normalized. We also collaborate with advocacy organizations and mental health professionals for comprehensive impact.
Through collective action, "Respect & Empower" envisions a campus where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered to stand against harassment and support positive societal change.
