UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT FLORIAN VON BARGEN, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2024.
Hamburg University of Technology | Hamburg, Germany | Advancing SDG 10, SDG 4 & UNAI 3

" I am thrilled to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a unique platform to collaborate with like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference through technology and engineering. My work is driven by a desire to innovate and contribute meaningful solutions to real-world problems, and this fellowship will help me further my goals while making a positive impact. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: SupportING@TUHH
The project aims to establish a positive and impactful connection between the university community in Hamburg (TUHH and beyond) and its surrounding neighborhoods. The initiative seeks to address the technological and administrative challenges faced by underserved groups, such as refugees, elderly individuals, and others who may lack the necessary digital literacy or access to resources.
To achieve this, the project will establish a student-led working group (AG) that offers hands-on assistance and workshops. The focus will be on helping people with everyday technological and administrative tasks, such as setting up online banking, understanding official correspondence, translating documents, and navigating digital tools like email.
The overarching goal is to leverage the university’s resources, expertise, and the enthusiasm of students involved in the Millennium Fellowship to foster inclusivity, provide practical support, and enhance the university’s positive influence within its local community.
Through collaboration, education, and direct engagement, the project aims to bridge the digital divide and empower individuals to better integrate into modern administrative and technological systems.
About the Millennium Fellow
I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg. From a young age, I have been fascinated by technology, which fueled my desire to pursue a career in this field. In my spare time, I am deeply involved in physics and technology projects. I have built a magnetic measuring site that rivals the accuracy of a 100k state institution, a project for which I have won several awards, including three first-place prizes at the state level for the national student science competition, Jugend forscht. I am proud of these achievements and am eager to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation.
