Millennium Fellowship Project: Say No To Drugs
Drug use, including Kush, zombie, and cocaine, is a serious issue Liberia, a West African country, is trying to overcome. Following fourteen years of civil conflict, Liberia faces a youth drug problem, with devastating consequences for individuals and the country as a whole. This national issue requires our urgent and serious consideration. Therefore, this project aims to bridge the knowledge gap among youths in secondary school about the harmful effects of drugs have on their physical health. The “SAY NO TO DRUGS ABUSE” project aims to educate 10,000 secondary school students on the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals and society.
About the Millennium Fellow
Alexander C. Balo is a Passion young man. He was born in a small city Tubmamburg, located in the western region of Liberia Coming up as a kid, he had developed passion for the health sector in his country, due to the many health challenges the country is confronted with.
He is now a student at the University of Liberia reading public health as major.
He is passionate about disease prevention, prolonging of lives and maintain a health society for all.
Through the skill he had acquired, he has made contributions to his community and and people around him.
