" "Growing up, I witnessed too many mothers in my community lose their lives during childbirth simply because quality healthcare was miles away or unaffordable. That pain ignited a fire in me that refuses to be extinguished. I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it connects me with other young leaders who refuse to accept that geography should determine whether someone lives or dies. Through ThriveCare-Africa, I'm not just building healthcare facilities; I'm weaving hope into communities that have been forgotten. Every mobile clinic we deploy, every telemedicine consultation we enable, and every mother who safely delivers her baby is proof that when young Africans are empowered with resources and networks like the Millennium Fellowship, we don't just dream of change; we create it. This work isn't my career; it's my calling to ensure that no child grows up wondering if their mother will come home from the hospital." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: ThriveCare

ThriveCare delivers comprehensive maternal healthcare through integrated facilities. construction, mobile medical services, and digital health technology, ensuring quality care reaches every mother in need across Sub-Saharan Africa.
"During the Millennium Fellowship, ThriveCare made significant strides toward its vision of reducing maternal health risks and improving access to safe maternity care across underserved African communities. Our initial goal was to design a community-centered healthcare model that leverages technology and local partnerships to bridge the gap between expectant mothers and essential medical services. By the end of the fellowship, we successfully:
- Conducted community research in two rural areas to assess maternal healthcare barriers, collecting insights from over 150 women and 12 healthcare providers.
- Developed a digital prototype for a maternal health mobile application that connects mothers with verified midwives and local clinics.
- Partnered with three local health volunteers and one midwife network to pilot early awareness sessions on maternal risk prevention.
- Held two outreach campaigns that reached more than 200 community members, focusing on antenatal care and safe delivery practices.
