" Passion for education drives my work and vision. Growing up in Afghanistan, I witnessed the challenges girls face in accessing learning opportunities, which has fueled my commitment to creating change. Being a Millennium Fellow will equip me with the skills, networks, and global perspective to expand my impact, using technology and collaboration to ensure that every girl, regardless of where she lives, can access quality education and reach her full potential." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Online education for Afghan Girls.

My project focuses on empowering Afghan girls and young women through free, volunteer-based English language education. Many Afghan girls face barriers to education and lack access to quality learning resources. To address this issue, I founded a volunteer-led teaching initiative that provides interactive English classes aimed at improving communication skills, confidence, and academic readiness.
Throughout the Millennium Fellowship period, I coordinated a team of volunteers, developed a structured curriculum, managed weekly lesson plans, and created a supportive online learning community with more than 500 participants. The project also includes leadership and public-speaking mentorship for young Afghan women, helping them express themselves and pursue future academic opportunities.
Since educational inequality remains a long-term challenge, this project is ongoing, and I plan to expand it by training more volunteers, creating advanced-level English modules, and reaching more Afghan girls inside and outside the country.
