" Novelty, people, and connections fuel my zeal for working on projects/goals. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will allow me to do so while connecting with peers, learning new ways to approach people and work in various dynamic environments. It will give me perspective. The skills I gain, the people I meet, and the goals I work toward through the Millennium Fellowship will help me make a tangible social impact. I am thrilled to learn more, for learning is the pathway to growth! "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth Education Collective

You know how we grew up without learning about mental health, managing money, or understanding your own body because no one talks about it in school? I want to change that through the Youth Education Collective (YEC). Youth Education Collective (YEC) is a student-led organisation that focuses on teaching youth topics that most educational institutions tend to bypass, like financial literacy, sex education, and mental health. These topics hold significant importance in a student's life, when ignored to educate the youth on topics like this, it leaves them underprepared for real-world challenges. When young people aren’t taught about financial literacy, they struggle with managing money. When sex education is ignored, misconceptions and stigma persist. When mental health isn’t discussed, students may feel lost and isolated. With YEC, I want to build a safe space for the youth to learn about such topics. I also aim to design curricula that educational institutions can adopt.
