Christ (Deemed to be University) Bannerghatta Campus | Bengaluru, India | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 4 & UNAI 6

" As an economics student, I am driven by the tangible impact of market forces and policy on communities. The Millennium Fellowship offers a unique platform to translate my academic understanding into actionable projects, enhancing my ability to contribute to sustainable development. I am excited to collaborate and apply my skills towards creating measurable positive change, aligning with the UNAI principles and SDGs "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Ekaarth
As an economics student, I have come to understand that the concepts we learn in school do not help us apply them to daily lives. Even if we learn policy, finance, and development, most students—especially those majoring in other courses, are still unable to make daily financial choices, chart career paths for themselves, or know how the economy affects them. This helped me understand that education is required, but it is never enough. There is more and more evidence of a gap between what students are learning and what they must know to thrive after college—financial literacy, computer proficiency, communications capabilities, and knowledge of policy. Together with Ekaarth, I want to impart these skills to each student and not only to students pursuing economics. The project will develop learning spaces by providing workshops, peer engagement, and group discussion on budgeting, career planning, and acquaintance with policies influencing employment and incomes. This initiative contributes to the attainment of Quality Education by taking learning outside classroom, and to attainment of Decent Work and Economic Growth by increasing people's employability. It contributes to the attainment of Reduced Inequalities by providing students with useful skills who would otherwise have nothing.
