UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT BLESSING ANIEFIOK TOM, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Covenant University | Ota, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 2, SDG 3 & UNAI 9

" My campaigning and community involvement are motivated by hunger awareness and compassion, both of which stem from personal experience. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will deepen these principles through international engagement. The skills I receive from the Millennium Fellowship will help me make a more tangible social effect on food security projects that are in line with UNAI principles and SDGs. I am delighted to broaden my ability to develop sustainable solutions and bring people together—because, as my favorite adage goes, "Good food brings people together from all walks of life." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Hope on a Plate
Hopes on a Plate is a simple promise: no one in our community should have to learn, work, or dream on an empty stomach. The project brings people together to share nutritious meals, create safe spaces, and remind those struggling with food insecurity that they are seen and supported. Beyond giving plates of food, we share conversations, teach basic nutrition skills, and build small networks of care that last longer than a meal.
About the Millennium Fellow
Blessing Aniefiok Tom, a 21-year-old Covenant University International Relations and Political Science student, believes that no one should go to bed hungry, as she has personal experience with this. Born in Lagos, she makes it a point to save her allowances and tiny earnings to feed others in her area during school holidays. Her favorite line from The Princess and the Frog captures it best: "Good food brings people together from all walks of life." She aspires to continue her work on a larger scale and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
