United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Safe Haven Initiative
Safe Haven initiative is a campus project for the Millennium Fellowship class of 2025, at Mbarara university of science and technology, Mbarara-Uganda. It focuses on promoting mental well being for all through creating mental health awareness amongst the groups at risk of developing mental health disorders, promoting preventive measures and offering emotional support to such groups. About the Millennium Fellow
Agaba Richard is a brilliant,young and globally competitive medical student at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda, driven by a passion for advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With a focus on SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG3 (Good Health and Well-being), he founded the "Empower Her" project to support girls in Taso village through reproductive health education, mentorship, and life skills training. Beyond this initiative, Richard actively engages in youth leadership, healthcare innovation, and community partnerships, striving to empower vulnerable groups and foster inclusive development. His commitment to social impact, empathy, and collaborative leadership continues to shape his contributions to sustainable change in his community and beyond.Richard aspires to be in a professional position where He can magnify His impact globally in the development of the United Nations Sustainable Goals.
