Millennium Fellowship Project: Plate to Plate
Plate to Plate is a youth-led, nonprofit initiative currently piloting its model in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Pakistan. Its core mission is to both reduce food waste and actively combat hunger.
This project is highly recognized, operating under the highly selective Millennium Fellowship , a global leadership program backed by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). Plate to Plate strategically rescues safe, untouched surplus food from partnering supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, and wedding venues.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mishal Ali is a passionate Public Health student at the National University of Medical Sciences. Her work blends compassion with action. She started off humanitarian work as a Pro Bono Social Media Manager for Clowns without Borders, USA at an age of 18, because of their creative way of helping refugees in crisis zones smile with clown shows. She now leads her peers at Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology, on two research projects and several side projects, supporting teamwork and creativity. Mishal now dreams of launching Plate-to-Plate, a non profit organization that will give leftovers from restaurants a second life, the food that turns into waste, she will turn it into warm meals for those who need them the most.
