" l'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I'll get to meet and learn from like-minded individuals driving change in their fields. This will help me leverage new ideas to enhance my project, training young people in junior high schools in public speaking. The Speak Spectrum's vision of empowering young people to grow, thrive, and make their mark aligns perfectly with my goals, and I believe this initiative can spark meaningful change in their speaking habits. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Speak Spectrum: Voix Du Changement

My project- Voix Du Changement was aimed at providing about two hundred junior high school students with the leadership and public speaking skills needed to make positive change. The project focused on improving SDG 4 and 10 as well as CRC article 2 and 12.

During the fellowship, we were able to equip 150 students with the leadership and public skills needed to start their social impact journey. We were also able to inspire and encourage students to identify and address problems in their communities, thereby boosting their critical thinking skills.

About the Millennium Fellow

My name is Martha Oparebea, a proud Geography student at the University of Ghana. Born and raised in Ghana, I currently reside in the Greater Accra Region. I'm deeply passionate about empowering young individuals, particularly those in Junior High Schools, with skills in public speaking. During my high school days, I took initiatives to guide peers in improving their public speaking abilities, which has enriched my understanding of how to nurture youngsters to excel in this area. I aspire to carve a professional path where I can leverage my position to inspire and equip vibrant young minds with the confidence to speak boldly and effectively, ultimately shaping a brighter future for them.
