United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Umbrella for Children
Umbrella for children is a project focused on raising awareness among the youth for 3 main issues; student mental health and destigmatisation, antimicrobial resistance climate change awareness. This is through online workshops, social media posts and in person outreaches such as visiting primary and secondary schools or interviewing university students on campus.
About the Millennium Fellow
I'm Ruheima Zakaria Balo, 21, from Ghana. I'm studying BA Social Work with French at the University of Ghana. I'm bright, resilient, and passionate about social action and achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). In my school, I've been working towards addressing climate change and SDGs. I aspire to work in fields that impact social change, sustainability, and SDGs in the future.
