Millennium Fellowship Project: Buddies for Badlav

In my community, I have noticed that people are aware of problems like waste, inadequate recycling, and unsustainable practices. Even they know the consequences of all these type of behavior, still they are doing the same things that is harming our environment. I have seen that these people know the consequences of all these things but still I feel like there is a lack of motivation and guidance to take meaningful steps. Our project is mainly focus bridging the gap between these problems by creating buddy system for social change. We are trying to build a community of student volunteers who are ready to join us for our project so it will impact in a broader way. Firstly, we will try to understand what stops people from acting in a better way towards environment. Then co-create simple ways with them and provide guidance for them to offer a support. We will focus on three areas for now: 1.Assisting PG owners and residents in learning how to properly segregate and recycle waste. 2. Visiting nearby government schools to make sustainability enjoyable by teaching students how to transform waste into useful or beautiful items. 3. Building a volunteers community working towards sustainability.
