United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations.  30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 530 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year. 

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 310,000 people worldwide this year.

Millennium Fellowship Project

XIGMA Zero Emission Africa Energy Roadmap is focused on providing smart, clean and affordable energy solutions, using multiple renewable energy supply proposals such as; Conformal Solar Cells, Hydrogen and Airstream turbine in the form of; off the grid, Micro and Mini-grd supply system. Between August-November, the team will be prepared and determined to make their Energy Solution for cooking and electricity which is cheap and clean available to homes in rural communities across Edo state. Additionally, the team will carry out clean energy awareness program to educate about 1000 people about clean and environmental friendly energy options for electricity and cooking.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ikponmwoba Eloghosa Anderson is a fourth year student of the university of Benin in Nigeria studying Mechanical Engineering, where he intends to transform the technological sector in his country Nigeria. Ikponmwoba is the co-founder a company Xigma that uses science and technology to solve problems. He is passionate about energy and our environment and he hopes to contribute his solution to this global problem
