ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 530 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.
The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 310,000 people worldwide this year.

Millennium Fellowship Project
The Project of Preventive and Restorative Oral Health Care in Schoolchildren aged between 5-14 years is a project that aims to educate children of a vulnerable population to promote healthy lifestyle. Two communities will be visited to carry out the following activities: brushing techniques, oral care, oral hygiene, preventive and curative care, simplified oral hygiene index, caries index. Approximately 200 people will benefit from these activities. This project is advising the principal of addressing poverty because the team is focusing on school children of vulnerable populations in their country that can’t afford private health care. Also the commitment of human rights to children that have the right to learn and get the service of oral health.
About the Millennium Fellow
Daniela is a 21 years old and she is from Ecuador. She lives in the city of Quito and she studies dentistry at the University of the Americas. The career of dentistry is very interesting to her since it focuses on helping the health of a very important part of the human body. She is very interested in being able to offer her knowledge to help improve the oral health of vulnerable people who can not access this type of services in her country. She is a person who is passionate about what she does and she likes to do everything in the best possible way and trying to help others by giving the best of herself. In her experience of helping vulnerable people, she has learned a lot and it has made her a better person.
