ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations.  30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 530 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year. 

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. Millennium Fellows' Projects are projected to positively impact the lives of over 310,000 people worldwide this year.

Millennium Fellowship Project

Nadine Hirt serves as a Project Leader for the Global Impact Collaborative, a student-led international development advisory group at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently leads a project team that consults for Women in Sustainable Enterprises Kenya (WISE Kenya), a nonprofit that empowers women in Kenya’s Lake Victoria region through climate-smart livelihoods. Nadine is working to advance SDG #5 of achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls, as well as UNAI principle #2.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nadine is a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying International Relations and minoring in International Development and Hispanic Studies. She first became interested in social impact work as an intern for Ashoka Mexico and Central America in Mexico City, and has since developed her interest by partnering with nonprofits in Kenya, South Sudan, and the local Philadelphia community.
