“I am very enthusiastic about joining the Millennium Fellowship. It will be a great opportunity for me to improve my leadership skills and social impact in my society. I am glad to be contributing to the realization of the SDG's, in particular, Quality education and Gender equality. The fellowship will undoubtedly give me the best platform for that.”

Millennium Fellowship Project: Angaza Project

Angaza is a Swahili word meaning to illuminate. The Angaza project aims at improving the quality of education in schools by making the Digital Learning Program initiated by the Government of Kenya more effective. The team also plans to roll out the Angaza Teens program which will provide leadership classes to preteen girls to encourage them to complete their basic education and expand their horizons to take up various leadership roles in the country in light of the recent gender equality laws in Kenya.
Measurable goals;

  1. To provide digital skills classes to about 15 teachers from three primary schools. These teachers handle schools with more than 500 students each.

  2. To ensure the teachers are able to conduct full lessons with the use of laptops and tablets provided by the government.

  3. To impart leadership skills to about 200 preteen girls in 3 schools.
