ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 402 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 48,785 hours and their 214 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 393,449 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Mentors Network

Mentors Network is a student-led initiative aimed at inspiring, mentoring, and developing students in rural community schools to improve school attendance, academic performance, and unleash potentials. Some of the goals that they hope to achieve during this semester is to organize at least 2 seminars and provide learning materials to students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Elona Boateng is Ghanaian from the Brong Ahafo Region. She is currently a senior at Ashesi University studying Business Administration. Outside of school, she loves participating in community engagement projects and volunteer activities. She is passionate about Sustainable Development. Elona hopes to use her experience, skills and commitment to achieve the development goals so that precious, but vulnerable, underprivileged lives can be transformed. She is a mentor with two projects: Mentors Network and Young Achievers Foundation. Mentors Network is a student-led initiative aimed at inspiring, mentoring and developing students in rural community schools to improve school attendance, academic performance and unleash potentials. Young Achievers Foundation promotes access to higher education for determined, brilliant, low-income students in deprived areas of Ghana. Elona cares about integrity, equality, justice, and inclusiveness.
