ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 402 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 48,785 hours and their 214 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 393,449 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: The 1742 Model: A Comprehensive Program for Education and Action on The Sustainable Development Goals in the Lehigh Valley

I am the LGBTQ+ Sub-Committee Director for this project and it is our job to create programming and events for the commmunity, starting with Moravian College, to provide awareness to LGBTQ+ inequialities through educational events throughout the year. The end goal is to provide a sustainable educational platform for LGBTQ+ inequality awareness not only for Moravian but throughout the Lehigh Valley. As part of our educational program we will be offering a 3 session seminar, for those who are willing to sign up, these programs will dive into the world inequalities among the LGBTQ+ Community. Our 3 sessions are "LGBTQ+ 101&PA Policy", "I'm not an Ally, I'm an Accomplice", and "The importance of being Politically Queer"

About the Millennium Fellow

I am rising Junior at Moravian
College where have been able to participate in our self-designed major program to create a Gender Theory major. At Moravian, I am the Presidentfor
the LGBT+ student club Spectrum, where I am able create intersectional queer programs on campus, advocate for marginalized students, and work with Faculty & Staff to create a more inclusive educational experience. I am also
a student representative for the President's Council on Diversity and Inclusion, Moravian’s Diversity committee for
faculty, staff, and students to inform and guide the president of the college on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In my free time I
enjoy performing with the Greyhound Marching Band as the assisstant instructor for the color guard, as well as providing tours
to prospective students as a Moravian 26 point Ambassador. My long term goals include obtaining a Masters in
Student Affairs or to work with diversity and inclusion higher education spaces.
