ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Play Smart

Play Smart aims to educate youths in Kenya and later on all over the world on the importance of sex education and related topics. The topics covered by the project range from hygiene to contraception to understanding different bodies and so on. The vision of the project is to equip youths with the knowledge to make informed decisions concerning sexual matters. Between August to November 2020, the projects aim to reach at least 500 people by holding 1 session per month on campus and 1 session per month off-campus with a minimum outreach of 15 people for each session.

About the Millennium Fellow

Stacy Mueke Kioko is a second-year student at African Leadership University pursuing International Business and Trade. She was born in Kenya and throughout her life, she has always had different interactions with youths and thus her passion for them. She is a strong advocate for sexual literacy and believes that sex education should be a basic human right. She is always driven by the belief that if one wants to change the world, they should change the small spaces they are in. Stacy enjoys reading books by African authors, engaging in different conversations and practicing economics and finance.
