I am sure that this fellowship will also lead to personal development. It will surely make me a better leader .I strongly believe whatever project you take up whether big or small, if it's done with utmost sincerity and strong desire to create a social impact, it can cross milestones. This fellowship will surely boost my confidence to scale up the existing projects, involve in more such programmes and contribute more to the society. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Menostorm

In India, Menstruation is still surrounded by many taboos and myths which keep them unaware of the importance of Menstrual Hygiene and hygienic health practices, like the use of eco-friendly, sustainable products like Menstrual Cups instead of Sanitary Pads and Tampons which seriously affects our health and brings in damage to our environment. The project Menostorm is to educate women about Menstrual Hygiene, its importance and promote the use of menstrual cups among adolescents and young women in various colleges and schools. Our aim is to bust these myths, clear the doubts, and provide reasons as to why menstrual cups are more sustainable and versatile than sanitary pads or tampons. The SDG that we focus on is SDG3 - Good Health and Wellbeing, as Menstrual health, is as important as Physical and Mental Health.

Women can overcome the stigma associated with menstrual cups only through proper guidance and counseling, for which open-to-all online webinars conducted by experienced doctors are arranged, we will collaborate with various social service societies for linking more social groups, arranging one-to-one doubt clearing sessions with experts and various other informative activities online, by which we can convince the reluctant women to switch to menstrual cups. A survey will be conducted at the beginning of the project and after so that we can measure our impact. The economic, physical, and environmental pros of using menstrual cups will be discussed at length. A step further, we will collaborate with companies and organizations for procuring cups at subsidized rates, so that we can arrange good quality affordable cups for the economically backward women identified by us.
