" A sincere passion for change, coupled with past experiences, drive my quest to make an impact wherever I can. The Millennium Fellowship provides me access to a group of like minded individuals and interactions to better my ideas, bolster my communication and design thinking capabilities, and strengthen my values while working with communities I hope to transform in the future. I am excited to learn and apply all the knowledge I gain from the Fellowship about the SDGs to my projects. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Code4All Initiative

Code4All is a community geared initiative I co-founded with five other Ashesi University students that seek to bring ICT and programming skills to students of underrepresented and underprivileged communities in Ghana. The project empowers young students aged between 10 and 15 years with ICT, programming skills, and soft skills. Using our recently acquired laptops, students will not just be equipped with ICT skills. They will develop a passion for computing and software development, which could move them to pursue a career in STEM-related fields.

About the Millennium Fellow

Elizabeth Chinenye Ejereonye is a first generation international student at Ashesi University. She is a rising senior and business major. She was born in Nigeria, currently studies in Ghana, and was an exchange student in Sweden this spring. Her interests lie in entrepreneurship and civic engagement and to this, she has created and worked on projects to address such needs as improving access to STEM education for underrepresented students through her initiative called Code4All, which she cofounded with five other students from her university, and for which she currently serves as President. Her desire is to continue to make an impact in whatever space she finds herself, while also contributing to the United Nation's Sustainable Development goals.
