" In India, at least 35 million children aged 6 - 14 years do not attend school. 53% of girls in the age group of 5 to 9 years are illiterate. The main reasons for these high numbers are lack of resources and poverty. Our initiative, ‘Kalam Ko Salam’ aims at empowering underprivileged children by providing quality guidance, mentoring, and education to them at zero cost. We combine the conventional modes of teaching along with extracurricular activities. Weekly visits are conducted to the Shubhakshika Open Shelter prior to teaching students of class 3rd, 5th, and 8th. We also aim at creating youth leaders from college graduates, as they commit to their responsibilities as mentors and take care of a child’s education. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Kalam Ko Salam

Kalam Ko Salaam (KKS) aims to dispel the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance by taking education to the underprivileged section of society.
