" I believe everyone has something to contribute to this world but it is only through the free meeting of minds that one can turn the abstract expressions of his/her imagination into something of real-world application. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will wide-open the opportunity ground for me and many others to overcome the communication barriers and stimulate creativity through teamwork and discussions. It will eventually help me in fostering the skills that are pertinent to my goal of making a positive social impact through community work and attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Sharing the Differences to Nurture Skills
The objective of the project at hand is the acquisition of skills among differently-abled students. The targeted group includes students with physical disabilities like those who are wheelchair-bound. It does not cater to the needs of children with cognitive impairment, vision impairment, hearing loss, and others of its kind. The main focus of the project is on fostering the skills that help prepare children for a better future and brings them to deal with real-life problems head-on-head instead of focusing on theoretical problems. Therefore, only students from primary or middle school are considered for this project as they are one getting ready for entering their practical lives. A class of 10-50 students will be commenced for a minimum duration of 7 to 8 weeks. The module for these sessions will be so designed that each week student learns a new set of skills that prepares them for a better future and helps them to understand and advance sustainable development goals.
